One Sky One World - 23rd Annual "World Kite Day" Event Takes to the Skies

Oct. 12 at Stapleton

On October 12, thousands of people will gather in Forest City Stapleton Central Park where the community will play host to numerous international musical acts performing on a solar-powered music stage, kitefliers and celebrities from the kite-flying community and local kitefliers. Every second Sunday of October since 1985, millions of people around the world celebrate "World Kite Day," and this year, the spotlight in Denver is on Stapleton's Central Park during the 23rd annual global event.

During the free, all-day event, visitors will be welcomed into four "villages" focusing on sustainable living, a harvest market, a pet village, and, of course, kites. The various villages represent the mission of One Sky One World as "World Kite Day" highlights the symbiotic relationship between humans and nature.
