Alpine sweetens recycling offer during DNC
Contributed by: Kari Larese on 7/31/2008

Alpine Waste & Recycling, the largest privately held waste and recycling collection company in the Denver area, has lowered the bar for Denver-area hotels that want to show the nation during the Democratic National Convention that they are committed to the environment.

In collaboration with the City of Denver's efforts to promote environmentalism during next month's DNC, Alpine announces its DNC Hotel Recycling Program, in which it will fully credit the cost of its Altogether Recycling™ service to any qualifying hotel that opens an Altogether Recycling account by the end of the DNC.

"The hotel industry will attract a huge amount of attention during the DNC, and we want to help put those hotels in the 'greenest' light possible," said Grant Parsons, Alpine sales manager.

To qualify, a hotel must show that it sends 30 percent or more of its waste stream to recycling or composting within a given month. The hotel will receive credit for a month's worth of free Altogether Recycling service for each month that it is over 30 percent through Dec. 31.

Alpine had previously announced it would provide free recycling to hotels that could recycle or compost at least 50 percent of its waste stream. The DNC Hotel Recycling Program makes qualification easier than ever.

The new Altogether Recycling™ plant in Denver is capable of processing more than 10,000 tons of material per month on a single-stream basis, meaning customers can combine their recyclables "altogether," with no need for separation into categories.

Hotels that wish to participate in Alpine's program can contact Parsons at 303-744-9881.
