Platte Valley Players to Host St. Patrick's Day Benefit Celebration!
Imagine a scrumptious home-made-from-scratch spaghetti dinner complete with side salad, garlic bread and a dessert... On St. Patrick's Day!
Leave it to the creative folks at Brighton's own community theater troupe, Platte Valley Players, to stir the pot as they announce this fun-filled family event!
On Saturday, March 17 th at The Elks Lodge located on 101 N. Main Street in Brighton, PVP will host a benefit fun filled evening! The fun starts at 5:00 P.M. with the opening call for bids at the silent auction tables where many valuable items will be going home to the highest bidders. This time also coincides with a social hour.
At 6:00 P.M., all will enjoy a delicious spaghetti dinner! The dinner includes a side salad, drink and a desert. If that wasn't enough, the evening will also continue with Reader's Theater performances. Reader's Theater is defined as an effective means to present literary works in dramatic form. The planned performances will include:
"RINSE THE BLOOD OFF MY TOGA," BY WAYNE AND SHUSTER IS A HILARIOUS SPOOF ON THE ASSINATION OF JULIUS CAESAR AS TOLD BY A MICKEY SPILLANE - LIKE PRIVATE EYE.
"THE OPEN WINDOW" AND "LAURA" ARE TWO SEPARATE SHORT PLAYS BY SAKE (H.H. MUNRO) THESE ARE TWO OF THIS ENGLISH MASTER'S WITTIEST, AND MOST HUMOROUS STORIES WITH SURPRISE ENDINGS.
Tickets prices for this eventful evening are very reasonable at $10 for Adults, $8 for Seniors and Kids. Small children aged four and under are FREE! Tickets will be available at the door.
All proceeds will help the troupe with production costs associated with their next planned performance, "Death by Chocolate". This is a comedy mystery with show dates planned for May 25, 26, 27 and June 1, 2, 3, 2007 at the new Prairie View High School in Henderson.
