October may be half over, but there is still time for shoppers, businesses and donors to rally in a flurry of pink to muster support in the name of breast cancer. Breast Cancer Network of Strength Rocky Mountain, formerly Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization, is doing their part to increase community awareness and involvement in Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Special events from the Mountain Shadow Riders (the Women on Wheels Motorcycle Club) to the pink Fire truck that visited Erie, Colo., this past weeked, there are a multitude of ways you can get involved. With these upcoming events in Colorado you can show your support and help Breast Cancer Network of Strength Rocky Mountain:
- October 17 - "Open Door" at The Gathering Place
- October 18 -- Fazoli's Fundraiser- Fazoli's locations across Colorado will donate 15% of their proceeds when you mention Breast Cancer Network of Strength! Eat out!
- October 18 - Native American Wellness Pow Wow (303-975-2449)
- October 22 - Oracle Health Fair (720-371-8815)
- Pink Yoga- Vital Yoga, Cherry Creek, Colo. - You can limber up and help breast cancer patients during the month of October. 10% will be donated to the Network of Strength. (720-298-3091)
Dollars raised during the October events stay in Colorado to assist patients, families and friends touched by breast cancer. Through the YourShoes 24/7 support center, Network of Strength provides immediate emotional relief for those who can't wait for tomorrow's cure. YourShoes 24/7 is Breast Cancer Network of Strength's peer support program that includes a toll-free hotline and e-mail, and has a peer matching program and support groups.
Network of Strength is the oldest breast cancer organization in the country, celebrating their 30 th Anniversary this year ensuring that no one faces breast cancer alone.
