On Aug. 19, my wife and I helped throw a 25th wedding anniversary party for my parents. Well, to be honest, my wife and sister threw it, but somehow I received some credit for the evening.
My parent's marriage brought two families together. We looked a lot different then. I don't remember the wedding, but we sure have some pretty funky photos to prove it happened.
At the anniversary party, my wife placed some of those photos, blown up, in various places around the events center. We also took a ton of new digital photos and had instant "Then and Now" moments at the party. People loved it.
In celebration of the release of photographer John Fielder's new book Colorado 1870-2000 II, YourHub.com is hosting a "Then and Now" photo contest throughout September.
We encourage you to take John's lead and post old photos you may have of Colorado places, paired with recent photos of the same scenes. You can also show us how your family has changed over the years. This is YourHub.com and we want you to be creative.
At the end of the month, John Fielder will pick the best pair of old and new photos from each of the 15 YourHub.com print sections.
Winners will receive a signed copy of his book and be invited to a reception at the Colorado History Museum.
Click here to share your photos or send them to us at YourHub.com, Attn: Then and Now, 100 Gene Amole Way, Denver, CO 80204. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for a speedy return of your photos.
Or you could always stop by and we will scan them in for you.
Thanks.
