CCPD: Meth lab in truck seized

10/2/07 4:29am - Officers seized components for a methamphetamine lab in a truck after the driver attempted to elude police. Officers stopped a person for a traffic violation in the area of 68th Avenue and York Street. While the officer was checking for warrants, the driver sped away. The officer attempted to stop the driver. After a short chase, the officer called off the pursuit. Adams County Sheriff's Office found the truck abandoned at the Welby Hills Town Homes in the area of 81st and Welby Road. The female passenger from the truck was arrested in the area. North Metro Task Force Hazmat Lab responded to decontaminate the truck and female suspect. (CR#13CN07008279)
10/1/07 8:19pm - Officers recovered a stolen car on I-270 after three people were seen by a citizen walking away and acting suspiciously. Officers arrived in the area and found the car's ignition and steering column had been damaged. After officers searched the area, three juvenile suspects were arrested for auto theft. (13CN07008275)
10/3/2007 11:24pm - Officers responded to a burglary call in the 5700 Block of Demott Avenue. Officers contacted the homeowner who said she noticed the window screen to her kitchen window was torn. The homeowner told police approximately $1,200 worth of gold jewelry had been taken from her bedroom. (CR#13CN07008346)
10/4/07 6:19am - Officers responded to an accident at the intersection of East 120th Avenue and Highway 85. A Jeep Cherokee had overturned and a the driver of a Subaru Outback was trapped in the car It was determined that the Subaru ran the red light and collided with the Jeep, causing it to roll onto its roof. It took rescuers 30 minutes to free the trapped driver of the Subaru. The driver of the Subaru was transported to Denver Health Medical Center by helicopter with serious injuries. The driver of the Jeep was transported by ambulance with minor injuries. The driver of the Subaru was cited for running the red light. (CR#13CN07008349)
10/5/07 1:22pm - Officers responded to a burglary in progress in the 7000 Block of Poplar Court. The homeowner was in the basement when he heard noises upstairs. When he went to investigate the noise, he found a male suspecgt struggling to get out through a window in the back of the house. The suspect ran from the residence and a search of the area by police failed to locate him. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a beard wearing a brown shirt and brown pants. He also had gold rimmed glasses.

10/07/07 8:29pm - An unidentified male was hit by a car in the 6200 Block of East 72nd Avenue during an argument with employees of a bar. Officers arrived and found the unidentified male lying in the street after being hit by a car traveling east on 72nd Avenue. According to police, the male was intoxicated and attempted to enter a bar in the area and was refused entry. An argument ensued and the male ran into the street into the path of the oncoming car. He was transported to Denver Health Medical Center where he died from his injuries. Police are still trying to identify this male. (CR#13CN07008477)
