DRIVER HANDS POLICE RUM INSTEAD OF ID
An officer responded to an Ace Hardware Store, 6900 Eudora Drive, at 10:39 a.m. Aug. 14 on a report of a possible drunk driver. Upon arrival, police saw a man attempt to exit the store parking lot and intercepted him. When police contacted the driver and asked for his ID, the man handed the officer a partially empty bottle of rum. After failing roadside sobriety tests, the man was transported to the Commerce City Police Department on DUI charges.

MAN ESCORTS OFFICERS TO MARIJUANA STASH
At 4:50 p.m. Aug. 18, police responded to the 6500 block of Olive Street on a welfare check. Upon arrival, police spoke with residents of the home who said a couple and their three children lived in the basement and had wanted police to check on their living conditions. A man who lived there escorted officers to the basement where they found suspected marijuana plants and seedlings. The man admitted the suspected marijuana was his and was taken into custody.
