FICTITIOUS LICENSE LEADS TO DRUG BUST
At 11:50 p.m. on Oct. 6, an officer pulled over a car with a fictitious temporary license plate.
While talking with the driver and passenger, the officer found a small bag of crystal methamphetamine, which the passenger told him, belonged to her. Also in the car was a Tupperware container filled with 80.3 grams of liquid methamphetamine. The passenger told the officer that the Tupperware container belonged to the driver. The driver was released for the pending narcotics charge, but was transported to the Adams County Jail on a warrant. The passenger was released pending charges.
NEIGHBORHOOD MISCHIEF TOTALS $4,300 IN DAMAGE
At 11:20 p.m. on Oct. 7, officers responded to the 6800 block of Olive Street in Commerce City on a report of someone damaging mailboxes with baseball bats. Officers were able to locate three males in the 6600 block of Oneida street. The caller identified the three males as the suspects, and in front of the officer, the suspects collectively admitted to "knocking over a mailbox." Officers found 13 mailboxes damaged, mail from several residents opened and in the street, as well as mail from one resident on one of the suspects. There was also damage to a flashing speed-limit signal and a windshield. It is estimated total damage was in excess of $4,300.
Two suspects admitted to everything except to causing the windshield damage. They were all released pending charges.
JUVENILES TRESPASS TO SMOKE MARIJUANA
At 12:04 p.m. on Oct. 8, officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress at a vacant garage in the 4200 block of East 69 th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers entered the garage through an unlocked door and did not see anyone inside. However, there were stairs to an attic area where they found three juvenile males, who apparently entered the garage to smoke marijuana. Officers found drug paraphernalia items on the boys.
Officers issued the boys a summons and released them to their school.
AGGRAVATED ROBBERY AT GAS STATION
At 4:01 p.m. on Oct. 11, officers were called to the U-Pump-It gas station at 5403 Quebec Street on an aggravated robbery. The clerk told police a white male wearing a red shirt and red baseball cap entered the store and wanted to buy cigarettes. When the clerk asked for an ID, the man stated he'd go get it and bring it back.
When the man returned, and when asked for his ID, he showed a black semi-automatic handgun and said, "Here's your ID." The man then robbed the station of approximately $2,000 before fleeing in a gray sedan with a white hood. The suspect is described as a white male between 22 and 26 years of age, 6 feet tall and weighing approximately 140 to 150 pounds.
