Police blotter: Men attacked with bat


POLICE RECOVER TWO STOLEN VEHICLES
A Commerce City police department community service officer recovered two stolen vehicles Oct. 14. The first vehicle recovered was a 2002 green Ford F-250 that was found on the 7100 block of East 58th Avenue and had been stolen from Firestone. The second vehicle was a 1992 Honda Accord that was found on the 7100 Block of East 57th Place and was stolen from Adams County. Police had no suspects at the time of the report.

GRAFFITI REPORTED
Officers were dispatched to a graffiti in progress at East 71st Avenue and Holly Street at 9:43 a.m. Oct. 16. It was reported that one of three teen males was seen applying graffiti a street sign and then the three ran south from that location. The three males were located in the area with two females. One of the tens who was seen tagging the sign was identified and admitted to police he spray-painting the street sign. One of the juvenile females had alcohol in her possession. The tree males were arrested and transported to the police department. One of the females was issued a summons for possession of alcohol and released.

TWO MEN BEATEN WITH A BAT
Officers responded to a cold assault in the 5500 block of Monaco Street where they learned that two men were severely beaten with a bat, and robbed of their wallets, cash and payroll checks at 8:34 p.m. Oct. 17. One of the men was able to get away and alerted police. The man said that his friend was beaten to the point where he passed out, and was then dragged inside a trailer in the 6200 block of Holly Street. The man feared his friend was either dead or dying from his injuries, and was still somewhere in the suspect's trailer. Officers contacted the residents of the trailer and saw evidence of the assault. Inside a bedroom, officer found the second victim, face down on a bed and severely beaten. The man later told officers that he had been beaten with a bat, robbed of his wallet, $100 in cash and his payroll checks, then he was tied up with rope and dragged into the trailer. The trailer was secured and held for a search warrant. The suspects were taken into custody, charged with aggravated robbery, kidnapping and second degree assault and taken to the police department for booking.

TEEN EJECTED FROM CAR
Officers responded to the 5500 block of Dahlia Street on a single car, roll-over accident Oct. 24. The 17-year-old driver was traveling north on Dahlia Street, and lost control, striking the railroad tracks and causing his car to roll several times. The juvenile was ejected from the car, landing 50 feet from where his car came to rest. The teen was the only one in the car and he was transported to Denver General Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.
