Police Blotter: Best of 2008


SHOTGUN FIRED

At 8:46 a.m. Aug. 24, police responded to the 6700 block of East 66th Avenue on a report of a man pointing a rifle out of a car window. Officers stopped the car near Olive Street and East 67th Place and two occupants were detained. Police searched the car and found an unloaded Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun. The man was arrested for prohibited use of a weapon and was taken to the Commerce City Police Department for booking and later to the Adams County Detention Facility.

MAN BUYS STOLEN TIRES

At about 3:20 a.m. Oct. 3, police came along a man wheeling a bicycle on the 6600 block of Locust Street with four car tires loaded on the bike. Police said the man claimed he bought them from some one out of the back of a truck for $75 and did not have a receipt. Police took the man into custody and charged him with theft by receiving at the police department.

THAT STUDENT PROBABLY FAILED

A student in a motorcycle training class held in the Dick's Sporting Goods Park ran over her instructor on March 23. The instructor had minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
