COMMERCE CITY -- On June 12, at about 8:50 a.m., officers with the Commerce City Police Department received a call of an accident in the 15300 block of East 117th Ave.
Upon arrival, officers discovered numerous accident scenes in the area. An investigation revealed that
Galen R. Bostron
, 48, of Commerce City, left his house in a car on the 11700 block of Fraser Street and hit a parked car in the 15100 block of East 117th Avenue.
Bostron continued east on 117th Avenue and drove into a yard and struck a house in that area. Bostron was confronted by the homeowner of the house he just hit, backed across two yards and struck a car parked in the neighbor's driveway.
Bostron continued east on 117th Avenue, crossed the street and hit a real estate sign, a mailbox, drove through a pile of landscape material on the side of the street and struck a yield sign at 117th and Granby.
He then drove through a traffic circle island in that intersection and continued east across Chambers Road at a high rate of speed. Bostron then drove over a traffic median on the east side of Chambers on 117th Avenue and struck signs in the median.
He then struck a backyard fence in the 15300 block of East117th Avenue, continued into the backyard and crashed into a play gym structure. There were no children in the backyard at the time of the crash.
Bostron then attempted to back his car out of the yard and became stuck. Neighbors detained Bostron until police arrived.
He was immediately taken into custody by the responding officers.
He was transported to Commerce City Police Headquarters and has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident and felony criminal mischief.
He will be transported to the Adams County Detention Facility. The investigation is continuing.
