COMMERCE CITY - A male student attending Adams City High School (ACHS) accidentally fell through a two-story window at approximately 11:35 a.m. on Thurs., Jan. 26th. It occurred on the east end of the language arts building.
The student, who is expected to recover, was immediately transported to Denver Health Medical Center, where he was met by his parents. According to spokesperson Joan Hill, a full investigation is being conducted. "He did suffer injuries to his leg and knee, and did require some stitches," said Hill
The school went into a level two lockdown to allow investigators an opportunity to interview eye witnesses. The lockdown was called off approximately 1:20 p.m. after it was determined the fall was accidental.
Letters were sent home with students explaining the incident. Counselors were on-hand to speak to students in need of counseling.
"I feel badly for the young man and hope he will recover and be back at school very soon," said ACHS principal Wes Paxton.
