Commerce City to open new off-leash dog park
Contributed by: City of Commerce City on 7/21/2008

For a tail-waggin', tongue-hangin', doggone good time, bring your Fido, Rex or Rover and roam the city's new dog park.

First Creek Off-leash Dog Park opens for canines (and masters, too) in just a few weeks. The grand opening is 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2; the park is located on the southeast corner of 102nd Avenue and Havana Street.

The nearly-two-acre park has a pea-gravel surface and is entirely enclosed. It includes a separate play area for small or timid dogs. Along with offering a meeting place for four-legged friends, the park offers obstacles to play on and around that will keep dogs entertained.

First Creek also includes shaded areas with benches, trees, and a restroom for dog owners. Onsite parking is available off Havana Street. The park will be open every day from sunrise to sunset.

Come check out the city's new dog park at the grand opening on Aug. 2 -- there will be treats for all furry attendees, and lots of fun, too!
