Register now for annual golf tourney
Contributed by: City of Commerce City on 2/28/2008

COMMERCE CITY - Be a part of the city's 8th Annual Memorial Day Scholarship Golf Tournament and help Commerce City residents further their education. Registrations are now being accepted for tournament players and sponsors of this important event May 2 at the city's prestigious Buffalo Run Golf Course.

By registering, sponsors and participants in the golf tournament support the efforts of youth and adults throughout the city who are furthering their education. Proceeds from the tournament are used to award scholarships of $4,000 each to Commerce City residents. Past scholarship recipients have used the scholarships to study nursing, civil engineering and other technical fields, as well as pursue college degrees. This year's award recipients will be announced at Commerce City's Memorial Day Parade on May 26.

Buffalo Run is a celebrated links-style course, offering a challenge to the best players, as well as those with higher handicaps. The Memorial Day Scholarship Golf Tournament adds a lot of fun to the course, with special challenge holes and great prizes for players.

Sponsors receive recognition throughout the course itself, and in tournament promotion material. Businesses that register before March 15 will receive a 10-percent discount on a Platinum or Gold sponsorship. Prizes for the tournament may also be donated.

For more information or to register as a player or sponsor, contact Debbie Mitchell at (303) 877-0685 or Leigh Ann Noell at (303) 289-3767.
