Great find for “Summer Fun”
Contributed by: Ron Girard on 8/22/2007

No swimming pool in your community or the area pool is closed? I found this very cool way to cool off in the city of Golden for young and old. The area is called Clear Creek White Water Park. I sort of found this by accident last weekend.

As I got to the Coors brewery late for the last tour of the facility, I decided to do some looking through the city, and saw these people swinging on ropes behind this softball field. I parked at the field and went to the area that the people were swinging on the ropes. It was fantastic! This is the Clear Creek. People swinging into the creek and people on inner-tubes floating down the creek! There were also a few people in kayaks.

It gets even better, there are areas along the creek where you can sit and watch people, and even dive in the water yourself. The water was about a little over waist high. There is also a concrete walkway that goes all the way down the creek so you can walk along the creek. And the best part, is that it's free! It doesn't cost a cent! Lions park is also across the street where there are other things to do as well. The people there were very friendly, which made the atmosphere really nice.

I'll be getting my inner-tube out of storgae and going this weekend! With our temps in high 80's - 90's this was a great summer find! The park is located across from Lions park / 10 th street in Golden.
