Mountain Area Land Trust's A Night In The Park

Mountain Area Land Trust will host its annual outdoor picnic, A Night in the Park at Alderfer Three Sisters Park in Evergreen from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 16. This popular event features guided bike rides and hikes followed by cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, music and dinner under the Big Tent. The festivities begin at 4:15 p.m. with guided bike rides (limited to the first 25 ride registrants), a hike to adjoining Blair Ranch at 4:30, or a History Hike hosted at 5:00 by local historian, Hank Alderfer. Hors d'oeuvres and complimentary beer and wine will be served at 6:00, followed by a succulent dinner from Cabin Creek Smokehouse Barbeque at 7:30 p.m. A silent auction will feature a sculpture by renowned local artist, Marlene Schulte, outdoor gear from Paragon Sports in Evergreen, and gift baskets made by MALT Board members. The evening will be topped off by the presentation of the 2008 Preservationist of the Year Award and a drawing for MALT's 2008 raffle. The grand prize winner will receive tickets for two for any itinerary on GrandLuxe Rail Journeys, and a second prize winner will receive $2,500 cash donated by Mutual of Omaha Bank. Casual or hiking attire appropriate to activity level and the weather is recommended. The party will take place rain or shine!
