1. The number of adults served at the 9News Health Fair in Conifer

2. The number of volunteers who provided valuable screening services and/or operations support for this year's event.

3. The number of dollars raised by Conifer VFW Post 12009 at the FIRST pancake breakfast to benefit Mountain Resource Center's Pediatric Health Clinic for uninsured, underinsured, Medicaid and CHP+ children and youth ages 0 - 20.

These numbers are only a glimpse of the strong threads that are woven together to make the fabric of our mountain area community. Nearly every person who volunteered their time for the originally--scheduled date of April 18 th, rearranged their availability to make the rescheduled May 9 th event a success after cancellation last month due to a major snow storm. According to Joe Dix, Conifer 9HealthFair Site Co-Coordinator, "The flexibility that the volunteers exemplified on such short notice made for the success of the fair. This is the continued spirit of community activism! Every person with whom I worked at the 9HealthFair was great, whether they were volunteers here in Conifer or professionals at the 9HealthFair headquarters in Denver. No matter what was needed, they provided."

A successful health fair begins and ends with the dedication of many people who all are committed to helping our mountain area neighbors get and know their "numbers." To everyone who participated in making this event happen, we thank you all and see you next year!
