Smash and Grab - Energy Efficient Light Bulb Giveaway

Earth Day Celebration at Conifer Town Center

Conifer, CO, April 18-20, 2008: Donovan Spitzman, Hutchinson Lumber, Inspection Perfection Inc, IREA, Splish Salon and torsopants.com are sponsoring an event to take as many energy wasting incandescent light bulbs out of use as possible and replace them with Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs.

Upon hearing that changing from incandescent to CFL bulbs is the single greatest thing you can do to reduce your carbon footprint (except giving up driving), we decided to give away some CFL bulbs. Anyone who brings in an incandescent light bulb to be smashed will receive a new CFL in exchange (up to 5 per household).

We currently have enough bulbs for over 400 households. This event can save $34,500 in energy costs per year and prevent 1,058,000 lbs of CO2 emissions if people show up to pick up the bulbs.

Each incandescent bulb replaced with a CFL bulb saves up to $15/yr in energy costs and prevents as much as 460 lbs of CO2 emissions.

5 bulbs = $75/yr in savings and 2300 lbs of CO2 reduction for each household that shows up to pick up their bulbs.

Smash and Grab is only one of the Earth Day events at the Conifer Town Center.
