DEPUTY CUT OFF BY DRIVER, GIVEN SUMMONS
On May 24 at 10:36 p.m., a deputy was turning south on to County Road 73 from Colorado 74 in Evergreen and was cut off by a driver turning in the opposite direction who failed to obey a yield sign. The deputy slammed on his brakes, then stopped the driver. The 24-year-old man said he didn't know what it meant to yield right of way. When the deputy asked the man where the marijuana smell was coming from, he pointed to the ash tray and said he and his 23-year-old passenger had just smoked, but were finished smoking when they exited the highway. The driver was given a summons for failure to present evidence of insurance, disregarding a traffic control device and possession of drug paraphernalia.

DRIVER BUSTED FOR TAGS, POT
A deputy stopped a driver at 6:40 a.m. May 22 for expired registration tags. The 22-year-old man was given a summons. When the deputy smelled marijuana he asked if the man had any on him, he said he smoked some prior to leaving for work. The deputy asked to search the car and the man said he didn't mind but added he was late for work. After a pat-down search of the driver, the deputy found a Juicy Fruit tin, which held a pipe, and two cigarettes. The driver was issued a summons for possessing less than an ounce of marijuana.

NOT ENOUGH JUNK MAIL
On May 23 a deputy went to the 11000 block of Conifer Ridge Road and spoke by phone with a 69-year-old woman who said she was a victim of mail theft in December 2007 and believed her mail was stolen on May 22 and May 23. She said she only received one piece of junk mail on May 22 and nothing else. She said she saw a light red pickup truck in the area that she did not recognize but only knew it was driven by a man. No further evidence was produced.

ELECTRICAL BOXES SMASHED IN CONIFER

May 25 at 8:07 a.m. a deputy went to the 13000 block of Pine Country Lane in Conifer on a criminal mischief call. The deputy met with the 68-year-old homeowner, who said when he went to bed at 11:15 p.m. May 24 the power was on. When his wife went for a walk the next day at 7:50 a.m., she noticed their Intermountain Rural Electric Association utility boxes were smashed. The man called IREA to report it. The deputy noticed four boxes on a pole all of which were damaged. The deputy called IREA and was told they were aware of the damages but could not provide a dollar estimate. They said the homeowner would have to hire a private electrician if he wants the boxes replaced. The couple said they did not intend on having the boxes fixed.

MAILBOX, SIGN DAMAGE RAMPANT IN CONIFER

A deputy went to the 12000 block of Callae Drive in Conifer at 11:25 a.m. May 25 to talk to the 43-year-old homeowner. She said someone damaged her mailbox, address sign and solar-powered light during the night between 10:30 p.m. May 24 and noon May 25. The deputy noticed a red stone sign near the row of mailboxes that was broken in pieces and marks where it had been hit several times. The deputy observed that eight other reports in the neighborhood had been made during this same time period.

WENDY'S CUSTOMER ASKED TO LEAVE

May 25 at 10:55 p.m. Wendy's 25607 Conifer Road in Conifer at 11:16 p.m. spoke to the 32-year-old manager. The manager said while he was working the drive-through window a customer threatened him. He said it was a long line and the customer who drove a 1980s blue Honda CRX started yelling through the order speaker that he was "expletive" tired of waiting in line. The man then yelled obscenities at other employees. The manager told the customer he was not going to serve him and asked him to leave. A few minutes later, the customer came into the store and demanded the manager go outside and "handle it like a man." The customer continued yelling obscenities. The manager asked him to leave again. The customer left, but told the manager to "watch his back." The manager said he recognized the patron from previous encounters, but wanted the incident documented and refused to pursue criminal charges.

SHAVING CREAM FOUND ON CAR

On May 26 at 8:53 a.m. a deputy went to the 30000 block of Snowbird Lane in Evergreen and spoke to a 53-year-old homeowner. The man said sometime between at 9 p.m. May 25 and that morning, someone sprayed shaving cream on the back of his vehicle. He suspected his neighbor, as a result of an argument they had at 4 p.m. May 25 when the neighbor threatened to bring dog feces over and place it on the man's front step. The homeowner wanted the incident documented, but didn't want to pursue charges since he couldn't be sure it was the neighbor who did the spraying. The neighbor was contacted and he said he didn't see anything.
