Jeffco Sheriff's blotter: Mailboxes knocked off


MAILBOXES KNOCKED DOWN HILL
At 6:38 p.m. June 3 deputies went to the 31700 block of Sarah Lane on a criminal mischief call. The resident said between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. someone knocked all the mailboxes down the hill. He brought them back to the road but wasn't able to locate any mail. The deputy contacted a neighbor who had been home all day, but he didn't see anything.

DRIVER ISSUED SUMMONS
On May 28 at 4:19 p.m., a deputy stopped a pickup truck at Evergreen Parkway and Ponderosa Drive that was pulling a trailer with expired tags. A check revealed the plates expired in February. When the deputy approached the drivers' window, an aroma of marijuana was apparent. The driver had a learner's permit and registration for a2005 trailer. The deputy asked to see the passenger's license, but he only had a Colorado ID card. When asked where the marijuana was the driver pulled out a plastic bag. The deputy asked to search the vehicle and found two glass pipes. The driver said neither item was his and the passenger verified that. The passenger was issued a summons for marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The driver was issued a summons for violating restrictions on a temporary instruction permit.

TREES TEEPEED
On May 29 at 6:29 p.m., a deputy spoke to a man by phone regarding a criminal tampering incident. The man said the previous night someone threw rolls of toilet paper into the trees on his property on the 6200 block of Kilimanjaro Drive in Evergreen. He said someone also moved several large rocks off the side of his driveway onto the driveway. He said the rocks were large enough to be moved with a snow plow. He wanted the incident documented. He said his children were grown and moved away years ago.

MAILBOXES DISPLACED
At 9:20 a.m. on May 20 a deputy went to the 30200 block of Buffalo Park road and talked to a man who said someone damaged his mailbox. He said the mailbox was OK at 11 p.m. the previous night but it was missing from the stand near the driveway and lying in a ditch across the road. He didn't think any mail was missing.

DISORDERLY BEHAVIOR UNBECOMING
On May 31 at 1:01 a.m., two deputies were dispatched to do a a bar check at Cactus Jacks Saloon, 4651 County Road 73 in Evergreen. While walking through the bar the bartender approached them and said there was a "very drunk guy" sitting at the bar. He began arguing with another patron. The bartender approached them and asked them to get out. The deputies asked the men to step outside. The first man yelled an obscenity to a group of customers. While one deputy talked to the man, another talked to the bartender. She said the man attempted to pay for his drinks, but his debit card would not work. She said, "I dOn't care about the money, I just want him out." The man continued to blurt obscenities and was issued a summons for disorderly comment and released.

INTRUDER DAMAGES DOOR
On June 3 at 8:o04 a.m. a deputy went to the 27600 block of Shadow Mountain Drive in Conifer and talked to a man who said the day before while he was picking up his wife at the airport someone broke into his home via the back door. He discovered the door framed damaged, but no one was in the house. He thought his 90-pound dog scared the intruder. The case is under investigation.

PANS TAKE A BEATING
A deputy went to the 4600 block of South Union Street in Morrison on a domestic disturbance. Dispatch advised that a woman said her husband was upset about the purchase of an expensive pan. Upon arrival at 10:20 p.m., June 3, the man said his wife bought an expensive pan and he told her to return it because the old pan worked just fine. She told him the old pan was gone and he became upset and took several pans and beat them against bricks in the back yard. He told deputies, "I'm guilty of beating the hell out of my bricks." The man said he had a bad week and was arrested and lodged at Jefferson County Jail.
