The last farmer's market of the season in Evergreen has come and gone, but not without one very special patron. Candidate
Andrew Scripter came by for several hours to meet voters and shop for local produce.
"Farmer's markets are the heart of our local economy, and we need to be supporting our local business more than ever in these challenging economic times," said Scripter who is running for State House District 25.
Over the course of the summer Andrew met, mingled and shopped at farmer's market all over the district from Conifer, Evergreen, Golden, Arvada and everywhere in between.
Andrew, age 37, is a businessman and a father of two twin three year olds. Andrew has been running a campaign that focuses on supporting small and local business. Recently Andrew laid out a five point plan for strengthening Colorado's economy and local communities. His plan focused on the economy, green energy technology, education, and infrastructure. As a business leader Andrew clearly has a grasp of how we can put Colorado on the path of economic success. Andrew said, "Colorado is in a strong position to be a leader not just in this country, but a leader in the world. My plan will create thousands of jobs over the next few years and create a diversified economy for the long-term."
Back at the Evergreen farmer's market other patrons where very excited for the opportunity to talk with him. One woman who asked not to be named said, "I was very impressed his ideas and his willingness to listen. We need more people like that, and less people worried about whether someone is republican or democrat."
Even several local business owners where happy to see him. One woman who was selling her jewelry said, "He was able to draw a crowd with his ideas, and that helped my business. He even took the time to talk with me and buy something for his wife, which I thought was really nice."
