Last Thursday Oct. 9, a bipartisan group including business leaders and the governor came together to endorse Andrew Scripter for the House of Representatives. Andrew Scripter, 37, is a businessman, active member of the community and father of two. Scripter has been running a very positive campaign with a strong focus on how to improve the economy. He has a five point plan that includes a series of job creating measures and a long term platform for economic success for Colorado. Two of his most important points are tax incentives for small business and investing in green energy technology to create jobs.

More than 150 republicans, democrats and unaffiliated voters came to support Andrew. It was clear that what brought this diverse group together was a concern for moving the economy forward. Governor Ritter focused his remarks on the need to elect more people like Andrew, because of his business experience. "In these difficult economic times, business leaders like Andrew are needed to push Colorado's economy forward. Andrew has a plan to help small businesses, and make Colorado a global leader in the renewable energy field."

Andrew thanked the governor, congressman and other elected officials for their support, but made special mention of his supporters. "I am here tonight because of all of you, and to represent all of you regardless of what party you belong to. Before we are republicans or democrats we are neighbors and Coloradoans, and when we work together our community wins."

Andrew's message of bipartisanship seemed to be working. Supporter Pam Knepp, from Arvada said, "It was a wonderful event. I am a Republican, but I support Andrew because I know that he looks for real solutions for the community, before looking for what a political party wants."
