Pets of the Week and Pet Travel Tips

There are thousands of hotels, motels, and inns across the United States that accept guests with pets. Most hotels set their own policies, so it is important to call ahead and ask if pets are permitted and if there is a size limit and/or extra charge.

Check out the following websites for additional information on animal-friendly accommodations:

As you and your pet head off together, it's important for you to do your part to ensure that dogs and cats will continue to be welcomed as traveling companions. Obey local animal control ordinances, keep your animal under control at all times, and be thoughtful and courteous to other travelers.

Table Mountain Animal Center is to each and every animal who comes here " A place of Hope", Some wait only a few days till a new family adopts them, some wait patiently day after day till the right family for them comes along. We have SO many wonderful adoptable pets, just like the ones pictured here! You will save a life and gain a friend!

Table Mountain Animal Center takes care of the lost /homeless pets of six cities within Jefferson County. ( That's a lot! )

We are always in need of volunteers in all different areas of our shelter:
office work, laundry help, dog walking, cat cuddling, cleaning, feeding, the list is endless. Applications are available on line or just come down to the shelter and speak to Carey Ledford,Volunteer Co-ordinator.

Gandhi once said, ""The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated."

I believe that supporting your local shelter or rescue group is as important as any other community service people can provide. Living in a community that cares for animals also teaches our children the importance of compassion and empathy. Everyone benefits from the time, money, and energy spent when we give back to animals in need.
