Jason Chrobak of
Fairplay, stands 42nd in the 47-man field
as the Adams State Grizzlies compete at Colorado Mines/Regis
Invite April 1.
Three Adams State College golfers continued the spring
portion of the 2005-06 season by competing as individuals in
Sunday's first round of the Colorado Mines/Regis Invitational at
Bear Creek Golf Club.
Freshman
Ryan Brees (Steamboat
Springs, Colo.) fared the best firing a 15-over par 87 on the long
7,611-yard par 72 course. He stands in a 27th place tie with
four other golfers. Senior
Chad Kersey (Colorado
City, Colo.) is one stroke back in a 32nd place tie at 88 (+16)
while freshman
Jason Chrobak (Fairplay,
Colo.) stands 42nd in the 47-man field after carding a 95 (+23).
Regis'
Bobby Arranga holds a
1-shot lead heading into Monday's second and final round at Fox
Hollow Golf Course in Lakewood, Colo. Arranga, one of four
Rangers in the top 8, fired a round of 76 (+4). UC-Colorado
Springs'
Alex Kephart is in second
after carding a 77 (+5).
The Rangers hold a 7-stroke lead in the team race as
well. They combined for a score of 314 (+26) and lead their
co-hosts by seven shots. The Orediggers have three golfers in
the top 10 of the individual standings, a group led by Joe
Ronevich, currently third at 78 (+6).
The second round is slated to begin at 11 a.m., Monday.
