Pledges for Pets Telethon
Contributed by: Communications Associate on 1/19/2007

SIT... STAY... WATCH... AND PLEDGE YOUR SUPPORT DURING THE DUMB FRIENDS LEAGUE PLEDGES FOR PETS TELETHON, JANUARY 28 ON FOX31/KDVR

How can you make a difference for thousands of homeless pets in our community? Tune in and pledge your support for the ninth annual Dumb Friends League Pledges for Pets Telethon, presented by Hill's Science Diet, on Sunday, January 28, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on FOX31/KDVR.

In addition to pledging in your support, sit back and take a virtual tour of the Dumb Friends League Quebec Street shelter, get some helpful hints on choosing a pet that's right for your family, learn about dog and cat behavior, nutrition and much more. Dozens of adoptable dogs, cats and other small pets in need of new, loving homes will be featured throughout the four-hour, live event.

"We're a private, nonprofit organization that relies completely on the support of the community," says Dumb Friends League President Robert Rohde. "By pledging your support during the telethon, you can help us care for more than 25,000 homeless animals that we'll receive this year and provide programs and services that help thousands of pets and people, such as dog training classes, humane education and animal cruelty investigations."

The telethon will be hosted by several FOX31 celebrities including: Steve Kelley, Shaul Turner, Dan Daru, Heidi Hemmet, Ken Clark, Melissa Mollet, Sean Tobin, and Joana Canals. Local radio personalities who will also be hosts include Murphy Huston, Denise Plante and Steve Hamilton of KOSI 101.1 FM, and Rick Crandall of KEZW 1430 AM.

Sponsors of this year's telethon include: Hill's Science Diet; Bayer; Grizzard; Pulte Mortgage LLC; Ameriprise; Aspen Grove Lifestyle Center; KONG; Holme, Roberts & Owens; Evans East Animal Hospital; Colorado Capital Bank; Snyder Manufacturing Co.; the Denver Dream Team at RE/MAX of Cherry Creek; Benefits and Incentives Group; Animal Emergency and Specialty Center; Beds-N-Biscuits; State Farm Insurance - Terry
