Blog Entry 16 of 83 North Denver Doorbell
Greetings. I'm the editor at YourHub.com and I use this blog to share what's going on in my 'hood and beyond. If you're curious, the North Denver Doorbell is the regular honking we hear in our neighborhood as motorists approach alley intersections or when they don't feel like getting out of their cars to politely knock or ring a doorbell.

When will In-N-Out Burger come to Denver?
Contributed by: Fairlight Baer/YourHub.com   on 12/21/2006

Earlier this month, my boyfriend and I spent a few days in Southern California celebrating Christmas early with his family.

The trip was complete with fun moments with family and friends and bites of excellent homemade food. Lots of teenage girls swirling around. Not enough jeweled spaghetti squash (you can get the recipe on the Better Homes & Gardens site when you register for free) twirling on my fork.

But all of that fades to the background when I think about my favorite California destination: In-N-Out Burger.

Ever since tasting my first In-N-Out Burger in September 2005, I have longed for the next bite. So I committed the cardinal sin of sons' girlfriends everywhere by politely telling my manI needed toeat one before we got to his mother's house - even though I knew she had just made a mound of her signature enchiladas.

At the Ontario exit, there it was (and at about every other California highway exit to be honest). I took a photo of my meal and savored every little bite. The burger was just as wonderful as I remembered, so I again wondered when, oh, when will In-N-Out come to Denver? I e-mailed the company detailing my longing, and here's the response I received:

Dear Fairlight Baer:

Thank you for your e-mail. It's always nice to hear from our customers, and we appreciate your interest.

Although we are unable to confirm a site in Denver, Colorado at this time, we plan
on expanding as far as we can, and particularly into areas in which our customers have expressed interest. As such, we are happy to let our Real Estate Department know that you are anxious to have an In-N-Out Burger® location in your area!

Thank you again for contacting us, and I hope you enjoy safe travels and a tasty In-N-Out Burger next time you come to California, Arizona or Nevada!

Sincerely,
Sara Vosicka
Customer Service Representative

I think it would be great if In-n-out burger came over to Denver. I go to school out there and used to live there. I live in California and only come to visit, and I think it's time In-n-out expanded there, people would go crazy over it if it happened!!

I love double-doubles animal style. I'll definitely ask them to come here. Has anyone ever tried to get a palm tree to grow here? I have a green thumb, I can always lend a hand.

I ate there in a recent trip to Phoenix (it was so crowded in there, you would have thought they were giving food away). It's pretty good. Another franchise Phoenix has that Denver doesn't but should is Ikea. That place is awesome.

I love In-and-Out Burgers. My best In-and-Out Burger story comes from learning Keanu Reeves had just driven through the drive-thru at their location in Thousand Palms, CA, (in the Palm Springs area) moments before we did. Man, that burger tasted good that day.

I asked someone about this and she told me that In-N-Out would never locate anywhere that couldn't sustain the crossed palm trees that are in front of every location i.e. their logo. She came up with this answer so glibly that I figured she must have inside info, but who knows?

Fairlight (Cool name!), Here in Phoenix we have In-N-Out Burger joints all over town. I hate to say this, but I think they are highly overrated. I've tried them and my best response was a shrug. However, I know I am in the minority as they are always packed. Maybe I was just having a bad day when I rated them so I'll try again and let you know if I change my mind.
