Blog Entry 2 of 6 Girl Talk
I am new to Denver, a recent college graduate in Journalism. This blog will talk about all the random thoughts that cross a 23-year-old female's mind. My interests are in art, theater and writing and I would like to share that with you, my neighbors. I enjoy being with my friends, my two cats, Jack and Cessie, and plan on experiencing all the fun things to do in Denver.

All I have to say is....firefighter auction
Contributed by: Laura Mayo/YourHub.com   on 3/20/2007

On March 16 I took a drive up north to the Rock Bottom Brewery in Westminster where I was met by several firefighters who were selling themselves, per say.

They were auctioning themselves off for charity. The Westminster Fire Department used the proceeds from the Rock Bottom Brewery to support the Westminster Firefighters Fire Victims Benefit Fund and the Public Safety Recognition Foundation.

The auction was silent, so its not what you were expecting. No firefighters on a stage here, while people shout out bids on them. The winners haven't been announced either. They won't be until March 28 at the Fire Chief Ale Chili Cook-off at 6 p.m. at the Rock Bottom Brewery as well. You also can sample from nine different chili samples while there.

I didn't place a bid, although it was enticing. I think, even for charity, if I had to buy a date, that would officially put me into the lame category. I'm working on an eight-month streak of no dates. (Did I just tell everyone that?) It's official, I am lame. I might as well just post my profile on some online dating network, like eharmony.com.

Anyway, several of the dates sounded awesome. Some dates included dinner, comedy show and hockey games. And all of the firefighters were gorgeous. Let's have a moment of silence for their hotness...........Whew! Is it hot in here? I might need someone to put my fire out!

I think that's a great cause. And not, it's not lame to win a date with a hottie, It's not the same as buying one of those huge cardboard cutouts of Orlando Bloom with the elf ears and taking him with you places. And trying to feed him spaghetti.
