Let's get one thing straight: I don't like kids. I prefer dogs. I know, I know, kids are great, you say. I know they are, especially your kids.
The strange thing is, even though I don't like kids, I don't mind reading about everyone's kids. In fact, I rather enjoy it. Perhaps that's what this job is all about, anyway.
Here's the thing: I read about the same people's kids all the time. What is so special about these kids? Not to be negative or anything, but out of the list below, I don't think there's a one of their offspring who's won a Nobel Prize or the Heisman Trophy. Yet. Check out some of their stories and consider writing one of your own.

Jared Keller, of Littleton, recently wrote about how the somewhat new presence of
the little ones has forever altered their dinner get-togethers with friends.
Ann Himel, of Littleton, wrote about the tear-jerking experience of getting
her sons' senior pictures taken, while dealing with menopause. Senior pictures were tear-jerking for me, too, Ann, but probably for a totally different reason.
Karin Malchow, of Lone Tree, who could tell entertaining stories for days about raising kids, recently blogged about
kids who get lost in department stores and amusement parks and the like.
Stephanie Blake, of Parker, is glad school has started and the
kids are finally out of the house.
Barbara Neff, of Castle Rock, invited lots of folks to her son's eighth birthday party and planned lots of fun games to keep everyone entertained. But who was the biggest hit? Two
Castle Rock Police officers who showed up.
And
Danette Glenn-Havlik, of Castle Rock, talks about planning a trip to Alaska with
a teething toddler, a prospect which, she says, "
can strike fear into the hearts of even the strongest men." I say she's right.
Let's get some new kids on this Web site. Start
