12:15 p.m. Aug. 25 -- Well, sitting on the grass was fun, but after getting attacked by a few bees, I decided to break out the SPF 50 and chat with a few vendors.
Karly Ward, a Lakewood resident, was selling organic coffee, tea and espresso from her traveling coffee business, Free Range Coffee. She is a regular vendor at the Cherry Creek Farmer's Market and the festival approached her to set up shop, she said.
In Lakewood, Ward frequents the business parks between Simms and Wadsworth, and she also sells at various car dealerships and special events such as marathons.
"It's kind of like an ice cream truck for adults," she said of the coffee mobile, which is complete with an espresso machine in the back.
At the farmers' market at East High School over the weekend, Aug 23 and 24, Ward said it was definitely busier than usual because of all the people in town for the DNC.
She said her favorite part of her business is serving up a good product that people enjoy.
"You have to be in a good mood everyday," she said.
