Blog Entry 4 of 12 DNC Street Beat
Hello there, I'm Erin Feese, a community journalist for YourHub.com. I'm pounding the pavement during the Democratic National Convention Aug. 25 through 28 to offer a woman-on-the-street view of what is going down downtown.

'People here are so nice!'

12:45 p.m. Aug 25 -- Continuing to talk to some vendors at the yoga festival (as most of the participants are busy doing headstands, getting massages or tying themselves in knots) I decided to see how visitors were enjoying Denver.

Luke Ketterhagen, with the Yoga Health Foundation, said ruefully, "Well, we've been having a hard time getting Internet." He said in LA, where he is from, free Wi-Fi is everywhere.

However, when he asked a woman on the street downtown where he could find a place with Internet, he said he was amazed how friendly and helpful she was.

"I turned to my friend and I said, 'We're definitely not in LA!" he said with a laugh. "The people here are lovely."

Brittney Riggsbee, of Oakland, Calif., with Numi Tea, also said, "The people here are no nice! I love Colorado, because it has all the good things about California, only more good things."

A vendor at the Mighty Tea booth (hmm, I seemed to have hit up all the tea places! Unintentional, promise) who were from San Francisco, said, "It's beautiful. Just look at your weather! In San Francisco, summers are foggy."

I suppose it's time to leave this zen oasis and venture downtown ...
