Blog Entry 84 of 87 North Denver Doorbell
Greetings. I'm the former editor of YourHub.com and I use this blog to share what's going on in my 'hood and beyond. If you're curious, the North Denver Doorbell is the regular honking we hear in our neighborhood as motorists approach alley intersections or when they don't feel like getting out of their cars to politely knock or ring a doorbell.

Broadway and Colfax Starbucks to close Oct. 24

Starbucks announced today the store in the Denver Newspaper Agency building will close Oct. 24.

The 101 W. Colfax Ave. location is among nine of the coffee giants' shops in Colorado that will close in the next year. In July, Starbucks announced 600 stores across the U.S. would shutter by mid-2008.

Sidney in the DNA's location told me today told me that she and her co-workers would be moved to other stores in the downtown Denver area.

I am debating which my favorite memory is of the store downstairs:
1. Starbucks gave everyone in the building a $5 gift card when they moved in.
2. One of the female employees made out with a man, sporting a grande piece of evidence on his neck, on the cushy chair next to me while I was having a work meeting one morning.
