Your first Youth Savings Accounts
The first steps in setting up financial freedom for your children is to set up a savings account. I found some great ones from our local Denver credit union
Sooper Credit Union of Denver.
Here are the programs
Kirby Kangaroo Club for Kids (savings account for kids age 12 and under)
CU Succeed for Teens (savings account for teens age 13 through 17)
Each of these youth savings accounts can be opened by a parent or guardian just like a basic savings account with an initial deposit of $5.00.
They also have a great, a web site for consumer oriented program designed primarily to teach teens and young adults about money, financial responsibility and the realities of the free enterprise system.
Features
1.Free websites to help educate your children
2.Quarterly newsletters that are fun and educational
3.Program rewards for savings
4. Account access at any CU Service Center location
Please let me know of other ways we can teach our kids how to save and respect money. Share this with others please.
