"Leroy Jenkins is like the Incredible Hulk to my Bruce Banner"
-Tyrie, on describing his ghetto side
Previously on the Real World: Davis is on the phone with one of his buddies describing his roommates, especially the two black ones and says that he might get into an argument with his ultra-conservative Stephen.
Let's all go to the sock hop at Monark
The housemates of 1920 Market are all getting dolled up and adding to their super-hotness for what is supposed to be a fantastic time at Monark, a trendacular club down the street. But little do they know is that this one of the biggest turning points in the Real World Denver saga.
While they are getting ready for the big night, Tyrie describes his ghetto, crazy alter ego, Leroy Jenkins, to Davis. Apparently ol' Leroy comes out when things turn thuggish and some bad things are ready to go down. Tyrie hopes that Leroy doesn't have to come out during the show.
They all start walking down to the club, Brooke is complaining about her feet hurting while they heading on over to Monark. (which is yet again only a few blocks away.)
Davis is bored and leaves, while the rest of the roommates are partying like it's half-past 1999. The girls finally want to go home, but Stephen says they should go back in to find their "lost" housemate and then someone at Monark drops the n-bomb and Stephen is perturbed to say the least.
While all this is going Davis calls his boyfriend P.J. and says he drunk and professes his love.
When misinterpretations lead to super-melo-drama
The crew arrive home get back and Stephen explains to Tyrie how he the bartender grabbed him and called him the word we shouldn't utter. Tyrie is incensed because he thought Davis didn't have Stephen's back.
And so he tries to clear things up by confronting him at the hot tub, but then the situation goes from fun green to red alert as Tyrie is screaming at Davis to get out of the hot tub.
Say hello to the house racist
Collie tries to calm Tyrie down but then he punches the wall and heads inside. Davis wants Tyrie out of the house but instead of punching him or seeing his plan to get punched by Tyrie to get him kicked out of the house isn't working so he tries to hug him.
They break away from each other and the girls in the house are calming the both of them, but then crazy Davis comes in and starts to antagonize him.
Tyrie blows up and says he can wait 18 weeks to kick his posterior.
Tyrie again attempts to get away from crazy Davis but then while he is enjoying a cigarette near the gate Davis again bothers our poor friend and then the producer steps in to get Davis out of the house because he said he doesn't feel safe.
Some of the roommates not involved in the fight are attributing Davis' wily antics to the fact Davis has a Jekyll and Hyde side when he is smashed. There's the kissy-kissy Davis and the mean, angry Davis nobody likes. But nothing excuses him for what crazy Davis does next.
Davis is crying to the producer about how he's scared and feels uncomfortable about staying in a place where someone wants to beat him.
He and calls his boyfriend and rants about how he leaving because some expletive threatened to kill him. (Just when you think the whole situation can't get any lower it doesn't, because Brooke and Stephen hear him dropping the bomb.)
The producer tells Davis to collect enough stuff so he can go to the hotel for the night. Davis asks the producer if he was in the right on what was happening, but the producer says he's not there to judge but to make sure that everyone is safe but especially Davis who said he feels unsafe.
We need a house meeting y'all
The next morning all the roommates try to sort things out and Stephen says he doesn't want Davis to leave but Tyrie is saying that he doesn't care either way, but if Davis stays he'll move past the situation but won't forget
Davis apologizes to Stephen and Tyrie at the house meeting. Tyrie accepts it, but it's not heartfelt acceptance. Davis comes back to tell the crew that that he is leaving. He wants to go back to Georgia and work on his alcoholic problem and house isn't the best place for someone with said problem. Jenn cries.
Alex in his wisdom says that Davis needs ]\more experience with drinking in order to combat his alcohol problems. Stephen forgives Davis and have a heart-to-heart lunch where Davis tell him about Tyrie's three personalities, Tyrie, Dark Kent and crazy Leroy Jenkins,
In the evening Tyrie tells Davis that he should stay to work things out and Davis finally says that he learned to watch what he says from now, i.e. if you're racist keep it to yourself when cameras are on. Davis decides to stay, hooray, and it's a happy ending, or is it?
More questions I wish to have answered before next week:
• Should Davis have used the Mel Gibson defense for his racist rant?
• Are people from the south more racist than other folks?
• Will the Real Worlders ever get a job?
• Will there ever be a Brooke-heavy episode?
Next time on The Real World Denver: Tyrie is looking for a bootie call but apparently finds himself in a pickle when he is trying to juggle two girls at the same time. (Cue the "Three's Company" theme song.) And Tyrie comes to Davis' defense when some guy tries to cause some trouble because Davis is gay. Leroy Jenkins to the rescue!
