Enter Flobots: Denverites opening for Metallica

The Flobots, the long-standing hip-hop spearheads in our fair city, have announced that next month, they're heading for the desert, at least for one show.

The septet (2 MCs + Violist + Drummer + Guitarist + Bassist + Trumpeter) will be opening for Metallica (yes, the Metallica) at the Pima County Fairgrounds smack in the middle of Tuscon, Ariz., on May 16.

In case you were wondering, the other bands playing are Scars on Broadway and Apocalyptica.

Something tells me that's a very different crowd than the 'bots are used to. *one of these things is not like the other things, one of these things just doesn't belong*

I'd drive to Arizona to see this show. Metallica - rocks. Flobots - locals, heard they rock. Apocalyptica - rocks (in a cello kind of way). Scars of Broadway - eh...
