Gladys Mercier, Arvada.
I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native.My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt., the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (3)

Tiana was 4 years old Sunday! Her mom planned a birthday party for her on Saturday at the nice park in Pueblo. Did you read about the storm in Pueblo in Sunday's paper? Uh huh, we had lugged all the stuff for the party to 2 picnic tables, put on cute table cloths, blew up countless balloons, set out the beautiful birthday cake, plates, soda, bottled water, lots of gifts.....you get the picture. Then the first thunder rolled. The sky got darker and darker. Soon, we were lugging all that stuff back to our cars, just barely making it before the rain started in earnest.
Tom and Mary are friends of my son and daughter-in-law. He is a chaplain with the Colorado State Patrol. They graciously invited us to all come to their house in Pueblo to finish the party.
Driving to their home, the wind got stronger and the rain came pouring down. It sure did look like a tornado was brewing. Going from the car to their house, we got soaked! The thunder and lightning kept coming for quite a while. The wind was up to 65 miles per hour!
We were a disheveled group but we still had lots of fun and Tiana had a great party!
