Blog Entry 3 of 3

As a working mother of three, there are many experiences that have me multi-multi tasking or choosing between work things to do and family things. I understand and believe that family comes first, so dont need to be reminded of that. There are challenging situations though in which all is not that crystal clear

Over the past few months there have been a few situations that have brought me to tears. Now I must tell you this is not normal for me...I am mostly even keeled and able to handle much pressure. Some thing have pushed me to tears in the past few months
One...the whole nanny thing blew up! One morning she decided not to show...along with my IPOD! I called her, hoping she was just ill, no response. I emailed her seeing if this was a better way to communicate, no response, I called her from someone elses phone, no response. I left her message that I was calling the police as I was concerned about her wel-being...no repsonse. Finally after 2 days I figured, she couldnt face me about not wanting to work for us, and giving me back my ipod. During this time, my husband and I had to figure out what to do with the kids...while still both working full time jobs. So let the phone blitz begin again to call child care centers, place ads, interview people...beg neighbors take half days off...so during that time did I feel like crying? yes . Did I let a few tears out? yes. did I let the kids see that? no. I thought it would make them feel scared and worried. I dont know if this was the right approach...perhaps you should share your feelings with your kids, I just didnt.
We did find a solution with traditional daycare and after school programs, bagged the nanny concept...felt to uneasy due to the last experience. So overall that has been good!
Other tearful expressions I will keep to myself less you think I am overemotional...this too shall pass!
