For artist, tattooing is like alchemy

According to history, tattooing has existed since about 12,000 BC. Tattoos are a reflection of a lot of indigenous cultures from being used for medicinal purposes, to mark a place in society and even worn as a protection from disease and death.
To me, it's alchemy in a weird way. People are attracted to these symbols so much that they feel the need to wear these images on their bodies for the rest of their life, whether it's for spiritual reasons or just because they love the image, which is my favorite reason to get tattooed.
As a tattoo artist, it's really cool watching people get tattooed for whatever reason. They get the new tattoo glow in their faces. Working in The Tattoo Shop has been an interesting experience. We do more walk-ins; usually it's their first tattoo so it's almost like we have to introduce them to the whole thing and let them know that they have options. I really enjoy my job.
