Art for my sake
Contributed by: Delmar Knudson   on 10/10/2008

Have been thinking about crashing the world of art now that I am retired. After all, general Eisenhower, Grandma Moses and many others have taken that path. One needs a special "gimmick" or trademark to become feted in western culture or worldwide. This becomes increasingly more difficult as time passes and more and more of the good and striking ideas are used up.

Some have used found art, or recycled junk. Some, like Jackson Pollock, kind of just throw paint at a canvas, while others invent some new type of Bauhaus, or Cubist, or Impressionist art. Some have even daubed toilet paper or blood or other disgusting material on their canvas. Others have used animals like monkeys or cows to turn out some nonobjective bit of painting or sculpture.

I believe I have finally hit upon a real inspiration that no one has tried. I am going to use cat fur balls, and arrange and color them. I could even feed the cats special things for a special effect. There should be endless variety in this. I know you'll be looking forward to my first major show. I am sure people will be willing to cough up some real dough to see and buy my work.

Sincerely,
Del Knudson
