Blog Entry 12 of 182 Bad Mom
I call myself Bad Mom because at the time I came up with it, I was learning about the assumptions we put behind our words. I was following the pattern of not believing that my kids are okay, and speaking to them from that basis. I changed that, and it made a big difference. I am from Utah and my people are still living there. My husband was in the Air Force and we rattled around until we saw Colorado, and we stuck.

Whatcha thinka my story concepts?
Contributed by: Lisa Arata   on 10/8/2007

I really don't want to get a job. Every time I think about it I run screaming to the computer and hammer out some pages in my romance novels. I have two.

One is finished in initial concept and badly in need of research to makeit realistic. The second one I'm writing about things I already know.

First concept: Mormon girl falls in love with non-mormon boy but he dumps her when she won't give it up for him. Three years later she's an ROTC cadet and he's an enlisted man. Can't touch her. How will they finally get that slam-down?

Second concept: Girl falls in love with boy when she is ten and he's sixteen. Their lives cross paths every few years. Will she get that date he jokingly promised her when she's older?

ARE YOU OR DO YOU KNOW ANYONE WHO'S BEEN THROUGH ROTC OR SIMILAR? I need a description of LDAC. It's part romance novel, part recruitment effort.
