Different Rhymes for Different Times
Pretty much just some street-type rhymin' goin' on here. Some rhymes might have proper grammar, but most of 'em probably won't. Nothin' fancy. Kinda just however I'm feelin' at any given time. Sometimes there'll be an explanation for the rhyme, sometimes there won't be. Not a whole lot of words endin' in the letter "g". Hopefully nobody ever gets offended by anything I write. That is definitely not my intention. Just kinda writin' out my feelings in rhyme, that's all.

Man, I had this crazy dream last night. You know, one of those "real" kind of dreams. Someday, but not today ;-)
I looked in the mirror as a kid, and what did I see
A happy, silly kid looking back at me
Running and playing, his spirit never confined
No hurries, no worries, not a care on his mind
Favorite time summertime, barefoot in the streets
Having fun with everyone, everyone he meets
Always at the park, him and all his friends
Thinking to himself "I hope the summer never ends"
Thy kingdom come, Thy kingdom come
Thank you, God, for raising me towards the man I'll become
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
A sheep from your flock, whose life's just begun
I looked in the mirror in high school, and what did I see
A respectful young man looking back at me
Quite the joker, always wearing his shades
Hittin' the books just enough to keep up his grades
Loved the sports, football and hoop's
but never caught up in cliques or groups
Always hangin' out, him and all his friends
Thinking "This is the life, I hope it never ends"
Thy kingdom come, Thy kingdom come
Thank you, God, for raising me towards the man I'll become
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
A future so bright, as bright as the sun
I looked in the mirror as a man, and what did I see
A stranger, a monster looking back at me
Disrespecting women, no respect for men
One bad choice after another, time and again
Fightin', always fightin' through the fears and the tears
Barely dodgin' death, but he was dead for years
Always locked up, him and all his friends
Thinking "If this is my life, I can't wait 'til it ends"
Thy kingdom come, Thy kingdom come
Thank you, God, for raising me towards the man I'll become
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
My sins washed away by the blood of Your Son
I looked in the mirror the other day, and what did I see
A man, a real man, looking back at me
A man who's made mistakes, and has tried to atone
A man who is grateful for the forgiveness he's been shown
A man, finally a man, trying to live his life right
It took a little while, but he finally saw the light
Always doing what he can for his family and friends
Thinking "Thank you Lord for letting me live, before my life ends"
Thy kingdom come, Thy kingdom come
Thank you, God, for raising me towards the man I've become
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
A time of life lost for forever to be won
I looked in the mirror today, and what did I see
A child of Christ looking back at me
An angel of God, flying far, far away
I see my dearest Jesus and He's showing me the way
I rose up ever higher, above the clouds, above the sky
and from the edge of Heaven, a tear fell from my eye
Always thinking of my children, who are truly my best friends
Saying "Please Lord, one last time, before my life on earth ends"
Thy kingdom come, Thy kingdom come
Thank you, God, for raising me towards the man I've become
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
Another prayer answered, one last one
I looked at my children today, and what did I see
Each and every one was a little bit of me
They couldn't see me standing over them with my back against the sun
They couldn't feel me as I cradled them, one by one
They couldn't hear me, yet I whispered; "You will always have each other"
"Always help your sister. Always help your brother"
"Always love each other, try to always be friends"
"And I will always be by your side, because true life never ends"
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Kingdom come
Thank you, God, for raising them towards the people they'll become
Thy will be done, Thy will be done
Their sins washed away by the blood of your Son
