Blog Entry 26 of 33 Business Help for the Rest of Us
I've read too many business books for executives and decided to write about tips to help the rest of us. I will also show the lighter side of my corporate career because taking frustrations personally or without humour can make me forget priorities in life.

I’m a Minivan and I’m okay
Contributed by: Barry Witonsky   on 7/5/2007

Why would that be? Minivans are useful and downright practical.

They are economical, can transport a load of kids and good on gas. Sounds reasonable but now picture yourself driving in your car behind a minivan; more than likely you're getting agitated and looking to pass.

The other day I was driving my minivan down the one main 30mph road out of my suburban neighborhood. It was about 6:45 a.m.and I got passed!

A white pickup truck went over the yellow line and passed me. Two out of every three times I drive the minivan, whether around the corner or across town, I get passed, cut off and/ or tailgated, sometimes all three.

I'm pretty sure when people drive behind a minivan that their blood pressure goes up. Perhaps some folks think so low of minivans that if they're behind a minivan their self esteem drops.

Well, I guess it says more about them than me or my minivan.

If I should ever get rich I'm going to put a hemi, turbo charged engine in the minivan so the next time some frantic minivan hater tries to pass me, I'm going to blow their tires off.

In the meantime if you should find yourself behind a minivan take it easy, I need to get where I'm going as well.
