Blog Entry 99 of 125 Bad Mom
I call myself Bad Mom because at the time I came up with it, I was learning about the assumptions we put behind our words. I was following the pattern of not believing that my kids are okay, and speaking to them from that basis. I changed that, and it made a big difference. I am from Utah and my people are still living there. My husband was in the Air Force and we rattled around until we saw Colorado, and we stuck.

Vas ist das? Eine kline...drunkenblog

Drink of the evening: Tarantula--a kind of tequila, blue-colored, with some citrus flavor, and a mixer that is also a nice tidy-bowl shade of blue. I've only had like one. Or two.

Listening to Nick Forester on NPR. E-Town. Stupid libbos. Okay, I care about the environment--so what. Tequila is made from God's own agave plant. All-American cactus.

Anything I like, I claim for the USA. Included in this list: Harry Potter, bratwurst, The Beatles and the Rolling Stones, chili peppers, French fries, naan, kung pao, and karaoke.

What's for dinner? Beef stew. I got the stew meat, threw it in the pot, put a little sugar and salt and a chunk of butter and chopped onion, and some sliced carrots thanks to my nifty new KitchenAid attachment. I did not operate said attachment this evening while drinking Tarantula. I did that several days ago. I'm waiting for the meat and vegetable juices to concentrate. Not like, concentrate on reading a book. Like, cook all the water out and make like gravy.

I bought the tarantula and the mixer to celebrate the 4th of July. What's more American than blue drinks? Ya.

I like tequila but I seldom drink it....except in my brother-in-law's margaritas. Dang in-laws anyway.
