You call this work?
I'm a community journalist for Denver, South Denver and Glendale here at YourHub.com. I'll write here occasionally about fun stuff I do around the city, life here at YourHub.com world headquarters, my cat and dog, movies, television and the occasional domestic rant. You will most likely find me blogging when I'm on deadline and should probably be doing more urgent things.

I got back Sunday night from a six-day vacation in Puerto Vallarta. If any of you missed seeing my mug on the Denver homepage for a week, rest assured that I was alive and well, basking in the sun.
I took the trip with my mom. For any of you who are quasi-adult (like me) and have a not completely insane parent (also like me) I highly recommend vacationing with your parents. It's a completely different experience than time spent on the family vacations of yesteryear.
Mom and I hit happy hours and dished gossip about the family. I attempted to teach her the art of sleeping 12 hours a night. We also dedicated quite a bit of time in the quest for the ultimate guacamole, which I'm happy to report we found.
Our personality and age differences made for a well-balanced vacation. I talked mom into boogie boarding in the Pacific Ocean and she got me to attend the resort's water aerobics classes. We looked like complete dorks in both cases, but we had fun. One activity we had no trouble agreeing on was reading under the shade on the beach every single day.
Now that I'm done working on my tan, it's back to the real work.

Cute dispatch. Hope you worked on your tan, too. It's nice to know mothers and daughters can hang out, and actually enjoy each other's company! :-)
