HubCap: Why your water bill is going up
Contributed by: Brendan Leonard/YourHub.com   on 8/31/2006

Anyone catch this story last week? " Denver Water is considering raising 2007 water rates to cover a projected $12.2 million revenue shortfall, due in part to dwindling water sales."

Yeah, it's not a big jump in the cost of water to the average bather -- an annual cost of $9 to $15, but doesn't it seem like they're always sticking it to you right when you find a way to get ahead? Like after you sold your truck and bought a Honda Civic, gas prices shot up to $3? (Some folks are probably going to find it ironic that Denver Water is launching an ad campaign to encourage folks to conserve water.)

That's what Jim Syring is getting at in his latest blog post, " The Lucarelli Factor." Check it out -- it contains the answer to why they're always sticking it to you.

Plus, how can you not read a story that starts out like this: " The voice on the other end of the phone was barely audible. " It's me, Bill. I think they're tapping my phone. Can we meet at the usual place? Nine?" I barely got the word, "Yes." out of my mouth when the line went dead."

Jim is a pretty great writer, but you don't necessarily have to be if you want to post a story. Sound off about whatever's rubbing you the wrong way here.
