Blog Entry 52 of 100 Charmaine in the city

I've called the Denver area home for more than two
decades now. But this urban/mountain city is still full of surprises. I'll be posting my adventures here, as I explore local eateries, shops and sharing birthday and vacation photos. And once in a while, I'll throw in a music, movie or food review. I hope to keep this blog interactive, so don't be shy to suggest places I should visit. And check it out: I'm on Brendan's List. Rock on!

A future Got Milk? ad?
Moms from around the area are going to attempt to break a national record for most moms breastfeeding at the same time June 24 at the National Mile High Breastfeeding Celebration. The current record stands at 1,130 moms, according to La Leche League. That's a lot of hungry babies. ( link)

How would you like to win this car?
A Highlands Ranch family is raffling off their 2004 Noble M12 sports car, which is valued at $93,000, to benefit three local charities. According to CarandDriver.com on their test drive of the car, the Noble M12 did a quarter of a mile in 11.2 seconds at 118 mph. Whew. That's fast. ( link)

We all scream for ice cream.
Thirty-one cents for a scoop of ice cream at Baskin Robbins? I'm in! Oh wait, it's already happened? Aww, but this Evergreen event doled out more than 900 scoops of ice cream May 2 to recognize area firefighters and their families. I'm getting a brain freeze from just reading the article. ( link)

Way to go, Sandy!
Lone Tree artist and YourHub.com blogger Sandy Clifton gets an honorary mention for one of her photos from the Rocky Mountain News during their monthly photo contest. Congrats! She also has found new meaning for "pimping" as she trys to promote her art around the area. ( link)

I love pancakes.
Littleton resident Ann Himel reviews her local eatery, Toast Fine Food & Coffee, and recommends it as a place to treat your mom for Mother's Day. She says they're high-flying for breakfast, and not too shabby for lunch. I'm curious about those Fruity Pebble pancakes ... ( link)
