Bad Mom
I call myself Bad Mom because at the time I came up with it, I was learning about the assumptions we put behind our words. I was following the pattern of not believing that my kids are okay, and speaking to them from that basis. I changed that, and it made a big difference. I am from Utah and my people are still living there. My husband was in the Air Force and we rattled around until we saw Colorado, and we stuck.

I'm sitting here feeling abject fear
A doorway to the future
I am drawing near
Will I go thru the door
Or just stay here?
I have a chance to do real work on my first romance novel. I found an ROTC cadet who will tell me about her experiences in the military so I can use it to make my story girl shine. I don't know if I'm up to this task.
Like the heroine in my romance novel, I'm going to have to makea great leap. Her leap is into his arms. Mine is across the inner divide, from the jumping-off point of concept, over a great black pit of the unknown, hopefully to land on the side of success. Or if not, my ego will be hammered again, but I will have learned something.
I've had enough failures in the past to know that I need to set myself up for success. I need to formulate the questions to ask, and try to make my interviewee open up and talk.
My inner Myrna wimpers, "You'll never publish this."
Liz, the big gal in charge says, "No, come on--you'll do it. Work it out. You can make it, you just have to try hard"
This is my inner Leadership Academy, my obstacle course, my weapons training. This is my way out of having to get a job.
