Denver rocks.

Roundup: Dem. Convention hotel drama
Contributed by: Eric J. Lubbers/YourHub.com   on 11/21/2007

Brofax Cosmonaut brings you the latest chunklets of what the Internet is saying about Denver. Today: Convention time.

Florida left out as DNC assigns hotels for fall *link*
Where else but politics could the act of choosing hotels cause this kind of press coverage? True, Florida's Dems did choose to move the state's primary in defiance of the Democratic National Committee, but this is definitely a mild sort of punishment. True revenge would have been making the Florida delegation stay at Colfax's own All Inn.

Texas delegates' hotel 10 miles from Democratic convention in Denver *link*
Oh, the hotel drama will never stop. The Texas Democrats (which apparently do exist) are complaining because they have to stay at the Radisson in Aurora, rather than the downtown Marriott. Is anyone else finding it hard to sympathize with these people?

Kirshner set to run the Democrats' show *link*
Finally obliterating the line between entertainment and national politics, the Hollywood Reporter revealed the name of the DNC's producer, whose previous work includes six Tony Award broadcasts and ... ummm ... the VIBE awards that one time and ... well, that's pretty much it. Is it too much to hope for an MGM-style musical number with Hillary Clinton doing scenes from The Miracle Worker or Barack Obama singing Greased Lightning to kick things off?

Ohio Dems to get freaky and funky *link*
I know what you're thinking, and no, this isn't the revelation of some BDSM political scandal in Cinncinnati. It's more hotel news! The delegation from Ohio, that little state that has proven to be key political turf in the last two election, gets to chill at the decidedly funky Curtis Hotel downtown. I hope they all choose the Mr. T wake up call.

Clinton announces 6 LGBT Illinois delegates *link*
In non-hotel related news, Hillary announced six LGBT (that's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) delegates from the Windy State will be making their way to Denver come August. Why Hillary did the announcement is beyond me, but good for them. But as far as I'm concerned, unless we know what hotel they are staying in, this link is worthless.
