Blog Entry 29 of 30 Marsh in the Mile High City
All the Real World Denver news that's fit to post. If you don't want to watch the mother of all reality shows read my weekly episode recap.

Is Lindsay crazy or a diabolical genius?
Contributed by: Marcelo Duran   on 7/27/2007

I am not sure if you know but I heard from several dozen trusted news organizations that one of Hollywood's most loveable young starlet's recently got in trouble with John Law again racking a number of alleged crimes that may dethrone Robert Downey Jr. as the top bad person of Hollywood, well maybe not dethrone Tom Sizemore.

Oops Lindsey allegedly did it again with her recent arrest and trip back into rehab following her detention by police after a car chase in California.
She allegedly was drunk driving and allegedly had some sort of illegal powdery substance on her person. It appears she was chasing down her recently fired personal assistant and her mother, who called the police because of the frantic nature of the driver, who she did not know was Lohan.

But it gets better, because I saw on the Today Show that she allegedly commandeered a car and held several guys in the car against their will. When one of the guys attempted escape by allegedly jumping out of the Lohan allegedly ran over the guy's foot and supposedly told the others guys in the car that she was a celebrity and could do anything she wants. Then when the police stopped the car she allegedly told the police that that the supposed black kid was driving and not her.

Now granted all of these supposed law breaking actions may have happened, we won't know for sure until she goes to trial. But things don't bode well for her since she is no stranger to getting into trouble, she already had a DUI charge a few months. She may face another DUI charge, driving with a suspended license and who knows how many other charges if the supposed guys in the car were kidnapped and didn't voluntarily let her use the car.

Some of you may ask why, why would Lindsey be so crazy to get in trouble again when she has so much to lose?

But I believe I may have one possible theory that will solve this Da Vince Code-esque mystery; it's all part of a ploy to drum up buzz for her latest movie released this week.

"I Know Who Killed Me," a film described by a friend of mine as a demented version of "The Parent Trap" needs all the hype it can get.

The film that brought her into the limelight was "Mean Girls," but I'm sure she needed to supplement that money with cinematic masterpieces like re-imagined "Herbie Fully Loaded" and "Georgia Rule".

So isn't it a strange coincidence that she would get into trouble, again less than a week before the release of this new movie? This wouldn't be the first time movie starts would make paparazzi waves to boost buzz for their upcoming films. Some take the conventional route by going on Leno or Letterman but she really needed to make sure that she would make the headlines and be the top celebrity story on the local news. All I can say is mission accomplished.
Here are some other examples of suspicious activity at the right time:
Take Eddie Griffin and his cry for attention earlier this year when his film "Redline" premiered. During a celebrity race he crashed and totaled a nearly one-of-a-kind Ferrari Enzo. I'm a sure ticket sale for the movie went up a good percentage point or two.

And of course how can we forget Mel Gibson and his drunken Jew-hating tirade after being pulled over. How can we also forget his rhymes with sugar mammary glands comment to the female police officer that pulled him over? Strangely enough happened a few months before his directorial sensation Apocalypto. The movie cleared $15 million and I'm sure it could be indirectly related to the publicity he received from his arrest.

Meantime as Lindsey steals a publicity play from Hollywood veterans handbook, I'm hoping her new trip to rehab will set her on road to recovery and help her avoid a stint in the big house.

But if she is somehow convicted she might pull more than a Paris and spend a smidgen more than 23 days behind bars.

God's speed Lindsay, I'm hoping you have the chance to make "Mean Girls 2."
