American Idol Results: And down goes Danny!

Sarah: Pretty good for our first predictions, eh? Yeah, we're super talented (but only at useless crap like this). Dead on for the guys and one away from being right on the ladies. I'm not actually so shocked that Kristy Lee Cook made it though...there's always one terrible girl that makes it due to some crazy reason (that being, in this case, "Aw shucks, it's that curly haired girl from the sticks that sang "Amazing Grace! And she's a tomboy, remember?!!!" She fails when her hair is straight and she's not singing country/gospel and that isn't a good sign.). I knew Kady Malloy would be leaving us, but chose to put her above those two just because of her inherent coolness and likeability (our ratings are half based on our personal loves and half on who we think will make it through...it's not incredibly structured, but you better bet it's pretty accurate! We've got our fingers on the pulse of this thang!). Good for her for getting to leave this horrible show; she's better than it (which, hopefully, she's realized). As for the others? Meh (though I do think Chikezie probably would've gone before Danny Noriega had that TMZ video not been released. I doubt too many types that actually vote on this show would be down with that).

In other news, Blake Lewis seemed incredibly jaded and strung out. Not so surprising; that's what this show does (strips you of hope, creativity, happiness etc.). Poor guy. Having to perform on a results show pre-Top 12 is insulting. Not to mention, he totally should have won last season. Jordin's nice and everything but she's ultimately crazy dull; when will this show learn that they should be giving extra props for charisma and personality? Having the judges constantly emphasize the importance of "power" vocals mostly always results in a boring winner. And who cares about vocals so much in this arena of pop music? You people already have your Whitneysand Celines and Mariahs (ewww on all three, for the record); why do you need more lame/obnoxious people with some sort of impressive (I guess...) voices? Base it on wit and cuteness! Reward the tiniest bit of willingness to make music outside the confines of what this show wants! JASON CASTRO!

Or do whatever you want. It won't matter next season anyhow. I'm going to wash this off and go celebrate Christian's win on Project Runway (hell, yeah!). Now there's a show where the contestants are almost uniformly warm (in all the ways that count, b!tches!) and lovely and clever and humorous and talented. Bravo (get it?) to the terrific final three (actually four; I love you, big Chris!) and a special bravo for the amazing and hilarious 21-year old winner (REALLY, Noriega, you don't even register on the Fierce-O-Meter in comparison).

Eric: What she said. Also, where's your Santa Claus now, Danny? (Travis, I soooo told you he was doomed)

Oh, thank God. Danny needed shooting down. Great singer. Fast success would kill him. Thanks for this service. I'm a watcher but couldn't keep up lately.

I agree with the fact that Kristy Lee Cook is terrible, the girl has had a record deal since 2001 [but then again there are so many contestants who have this season]. I think Jason Castro is great, I am surprised [in a good way] that he was picked to go on this show, because he is very different. I loved his "Hallelujah" selection the other night. I hope he makes it far, and maybe even wins! I'm so sick of people that have no originality and I really hope that Carly Smithson leaves because there should be no contestant who has their entire album and MUSIC VIDEO available for purchase on ITunes [see "Carly Hennessy" if you are curious to hear her uninspiring music].
