Muslim Culture
Contributed by: Delmar Knudson   on 12/8/2006

Many criticize the U.S. government for having a go-it-alone attitude, especially the present Bush government. They obviously do have a point. Surely, we can learn from other countries and other cultures. For example, I feel many are lax in this country in the daily practice of their religion.

Mogadishu, Somalia: An Islamic court official has decreed that the residents of a southern Somalia town who do not pray five times a day will be beheaded. This edict will be implemented in 3 days (Notice of Dec. 7, 2006). "Those who do not follow this edict will definitely be beheaded according to Islamic law; As Muslims, we should practice Islam fully. All shops must be closed and no one on the streets during prayer time."

They don't shilly - shally do they? No ambiguity there.

We can learn a lot from others. This could really increase our turnout for Sunday worship.

Thankfully, we can pray when we want to and can worship at the church we wish to.
